kingdom hospital

..more going back in time

I think I did my best breakdown work so far on Kingdom Hospital. Unfortunately the quality of some of the pics aren't the best ....but hopefully it gives an idea of the level of work done.

Pretty much everything on that show was over dyed and broken down to give it all a ghostly feel

There was a lot of white. breaking down white so it looks subtle enough to look natural but heavy enough to show in low light was the challenge, especially with the smooth white garments which we had tons of with the hospital gowns, O.R. gowns and scrubs.

ice cream white....

These two are a favourite of mine. I used puff paint, and an airbrushing glue technique to do the mouldy and cobweb effects...

going back in time....

......to the twilight zone!

thought i'd add some old stuff and figured the twilight zone was a great place to start. done in the season of 2002, we did 44 eps!! yes 44...a new one every 4 days!! that's right! and it was awesome! :) the cool scripts many of which were base on the old series. one which i unfortunately don't have any pics... "the eye of the beholder" do you remember that one? we re did it word for word except for one thing...the doctor wasn't smoking in his office! haha...yeah you just don't see doctor's doing that on TV anymore. ;)

we had quite a few people on the show that were just starting out... their careers that later on became quite famous. people like usher and jessica simpson. as well as some long time established types like jason alexander, eric la salle and forest whidaker.

here's usher baring his chest...

usher and crew. i remember not knowing anything about hip hop culture before twilight zone. i was shocked to learn the rules of dress are many...and not to be messed with! i got by ok with alot of help from the guys at local hip hop store dipt. they gave me a crash course.

"it's still a wonderful" was a continuation of the 1961 twilight zone episode "it's a wonderful life" they actually brought back the same actor that played in the original as a child.

cloris leachman played in that one as well

"memphis" we reenacted the shooting of martin luther king jr.

La Premiere Etoile

I must admit this one was hard to pull off...only because i was working on supernatural and it was a super busy time for me. my co-worker Jenn was away in toronto with both her parents in the hospital...so i was picking up the slack. plus my parents came for a visit for the first time in years the week before. oh well but it all worked out fine and i did manage to have alot of fun along the way!

looking forward to tomorrow we are having the screening for this along with other KICKSTART FILMS at the ridge!
:)

The Ani Kyd Blues Experience

directed by Marcus Rogers, this was super fun video to work on. Ani makes it easy just being herself and looking fabulous!! She is a constant inspiration to me...i love you Ani Kyd!!

:)

the 11th spice

a short film. Jason Fischer's first effort directing. something anyone dealing with or has a loved one with mental illness can relate to. i was proud to be a part of this one.

here we were faced with the challenge of making our uncle victor look like someone vaguely familler

acting and also one of our producers..i think Allan Ross did an amazing job!

yeah it snowed that day...wet yucky snow...but we pulled together and made it through!

so many people helped out from our crew on supernatural it was amazing to see! here's lesley woman of all trades...i'll take some set dec a little background work and a side order of ADing please!!

supernatural

I thought i'd include some for the breakdown work i did in the early days of supernatural. just to show people what i can do and besides...i did work on it for 5 long years...that's gotta count for something.

bloody mary was one of my favs. simple but beautiful....

dead in the water. i think that was the first eps directed by Kim Manners. i remember he was very complimentary to me on the breakdown of that costume. i worked worked hard on it and it was a challenge because it was going to be underwater but he made all worth it with a few kind words. RIP Kim

after 5 seasons i still think asylum is the scariest eps on supernatural!

hookman. a collabrative effort between maria waterman and me. wow...that one really was alot of work and one that keeps getting dragged out of costume storage for cameos ;)

some dead dummies in the studio waiting to be strung up! another joint effort between maria and me. the shows were getting so big that i could no longer do the shopping and do breakdown, so i handed over the bulk of the breakdown to maria for the rest of season 1

I had to put this one in....Dracula and my 64 vespa 90

work in progress

I've been writing a personal blog on and off for a few years now and enjoy it....although lately my posts of late have been few and far between.

As some of you know in the last few years in between (and during) paycheck gigs i've been taking the rains and designing some shows of my own. Anyway I've been looking for an alternative to a portfolio. everytime I pull out that darn thing at has to be totally redone! the pages get all weird over time and it's alot of time and money to update. Plus most of my recent work is online so i thought i'd do it this way.....as a blog. it's a bit of as casual portfolio that I can update when every i like.

enjoy.....
